1 Atlantic Quay is part of a group of buildings in Glasgow’s financial district, IFSD. It was originally developed in the early 1990’s to a very high specification, but was now in need of refurbishment.
The brief was to create a high-quality, refurbished office building, which would compete with new city centre office developments. Ingram Architecture & Design were appointed at an early stage and were able to provide strategic advice on how best to approach the design.
The reception areas and common parts were completely transformed throughout the building. Whilst we retained the original marble floors and granite cladding we introduced new illuminated ceilings and dark timber wall panels which provided the perfect backdrop for the new soft seating tenants lounge area.
The office space was cleverly designed to maximise floor plates and to integrate the new services seamlessly. Services were completely replaced and wc cores refurbished. The works were sensitively carried out whilst the building was partially occupied.
We worked closely with the team on a traditional contract to ensure that the project was delivered successfully within a tight programme.
